Lease Agreement Example: SMS messaging
Consent to Electronic and SMS Communications
By signing this lease agreement, the Tenant expressly agrees and consents to receive
communications from the Landlord via phone call, SMS (text messaging), and email for matters
related to the lease, including but not limited to rent payment reminders, maintenance
notifications, community updates, emergency alerts, and other important information
regarding the rental property. SMS messages may be sent periodically, and message frequency
may vary based on the Tenant’s interactions and the necessity of communications. Standard
message and data rates may apply as determined by the Tenant’s mobile carrier. Landlord may
collect and store personal information through SMS. Landlord does not share, sell, rent, or
disclose your SMS-related information to any third parties without your consent or as may be
required by a court of competent jurisdiction. The Tenant acknowledges that SMS delivery is
dependent on third-party service providers and mobile carriers, and the Landlord is not
responsible for delays or technical issues that may prevent message delivery. Other than
specified above, Landlord does not take any further action to secure information delivered
through SMS. The Tenant may opt out of SMS communications at any time by replying “STOP”
to any message; however, opting out does not relieve the Tenant of any responsibilities
outlined in the lease agreement, including staying informed of critical lease-related updates.
